Ilerna
Ermina has a large pantheon of deities. The belief is that the deities came from a conduit known as Chaos’ Well. The first Goddess, Ilerna, is a human addition to tie the varying deities into one cohesive pantheon.
Humans found evidence of an unnamed goddess on pottery shards and a few ancient murals. Speculations ranged on which goddess it could have been but she held several epithets and symbols of different goddesses so scholars could not agree on who it was and thus the idea of a first Goddess was born. The Ungovernables and Benigns did not argue or disprove the theory which gave it further credibility.
The other races adopted Ilerna into their respective pantheons, though they tend not to worship her. There are some humans who worship Ilerna and have tried to create a gospel of sorts using bits and pieces of other gospels already in existence.
Fae Pantheon
The Fae pantheon comprises 7 different races, as such there are seven different deities who are responsible for a different race.
Lishara: The triple headed Gorgon goddess. Her domain is Fate and Judgement. She acts as one of the main deities of the underworld and is one of five judges that sit in judgement over a soul. She is a feared Goddess, but it is an unfair belief. As a goddess of judgement, she is extremely fair.
Reuban: The Elf God and the head of the Fae Pantheon. He is the sun god and is the god of healing and medicine. He created the different forms of elves, wood, dark, sea, and high. Most worshippers of the Fae Pantheon see him as the greatest of their pantheon, despite the fact he is not overly powerful. Many consider him a good deity.
Herm: is the fairy god, he created two different types of Fae. Harpies and Fairies. Like the beings he created, he has two sides. He is a trickster god who protects thieves, but also the god of messengers, meaning he also protects couriers. Many consider him to be an evil to neutral deity.
Malinios: the deity of magic. They are fluid, as is the magic they create and use. If a human prays to them and sends an offering it is possible they will transform the human into a witch. Malinios also created Unicorns with Reuban’s help. Most consider them an evil deity.
Berdain: He created Griffons and Birdmen, both of which are races that have since gone extinct. As a god of the forge and crafting, it is believed that he is waiting to reform them. He is considered a neutral deity.
Wajex: The god of song and beauty. He created the Wyvern race, though there are some people who believe Riven (of the Sirenic Triumvirate) aided him in some way. His stories are the least known as his race was one of the first to be exterminated during the Human Uprising. He was believed to be a good deity.
The final member of the Fae Pantheon is Lorelai, who has a complicated story linked with Peisinoe (Sirenic Triumvirate). She is the goddess who created mermaids and the goddess of second chances. For more, read on about Peisinoe.
Were Pantheon
There are only two gods related to the Were pantheon, Fenrire and Lupine.
Fenrire: A god of strategy and cunning in war. He is the reason Were beings can revert to a human form and blend in with humans. He doesn’t get along with Lupine and believes he is violent and foolish. Most people consider him a neutral god.
Lupine: the god of the violence of war. He lives off the violence that exists within the world and is pushing for conflicts. Many consider him to be an evil god. He is the reason behind the violence in Were beings. He is the animal instinct that drives were beings to hunt down humans and to create more were beings through bites.
Nymphonic Pantheon
The Nymphs have four androgynous deities who are behind the creation of the four types of Nymphs.
Tempest: The deity of air and creator of Cloud Nymphs. They are neither a good or evil deity, like the air, they just exist, sometimes like a calm breeze and other times like a raging tempest.
Terra: The deity of earth and creator of Earthen Nymphs. Terra is seen as an evil deity, mostly due to the stories related to their rage and the earthquakes they create within the Protectorate Nation. Most Nymphs do not agree with the human feelings towards Terra and recognize they are just an elemental deity and as fickle as anyone.
Torch: Creator of the Fire Nymphs and the deity linked with fire and infernos. Again, they are despised by humans but Nymphs and some Ungovernable races do not seem to agree with that sentiment.
Tsunami: Water Nymphs were created by Tsunami as a way to balance Torch’s fire Nymphs who were causing issues early on. They are seen as a benevolent deity by all.
Sirenic Triumvirate
The Sirenic Triumvirate encompasses two races. Sirens and Vampires. They deities within the triumvirate worked together to create the two races which is why they have similar abilities.
Riven: The god of the oceans and seas. He is also associated with beauty and song. He is known to flip between being calm and kind and becoming a raging tsunami leaving damage and death in his wake.
Lamia: Queen of the Vampires and supposedly living as a prisoner amongst her creation. She is the goddess of time and once had a crush on Riven. Her trickery and deceit led to Peisinoe’s disappearance and eventually transformation into Lorelai. Lamia’s betrayal of the Triumvirate led to her being cursed by Peisinoe to be tormented by the vampires she created.
Peisinoe: Riven’s lover and the goddess of Vengeance. After a tragic accident she became Lorelai and created the mermaids. It is because of her that Mermaids and Sirens now live together in communal units.
Others outside the Pantheon
There are three races that fall outside the range of the normal Ungovernable or Benign races. Thanatoi, Daimons, and Hosts. These groups see themselves as deities, though the other deities would not agree with that assessment.
Thanatoi: Controllers over the flow of souls. They have a long time enmity with Daimons and believe in destroying them. Thanatoi have a history of caring only for themselves and staying out of the concerns of the “lower” races.
Daimons: Rulers of the eight hells. They think they should also control the underworld, but the deities have refused them that. The King of Infernus (whose identity is unknown) leads daimons. They have a very elaborate hierarchy and system that they obey.
Hosts: Messengers of the gods. These beings are powerful, but stay out of mortal affairs. There are intense punishments for those who interfere. As messengers, they are impartial and do not worry about how anyone other than the deities will feel about their actions.
